1)    I’m a studio art major, currently focusing on photography as my main interest. I’m taking art history courses to fulfill requirements as well as learn more about the history of art to gain the necessary knowledge of all art I’m learning about, as well as creating.

2)    The most amazing exhibition I have ever viewed was Gregory Colbert’s “Ashes and Snow” exhibition showed in Santa Monica. He spent over 12 years studying and working with wild animals, and peaceful human beings, and in return he got the most capturing images I have ever seen. Here is a link: http://www.ashesandsnow.org/en/

3)    I am currently reading a textbook called Art of the 1900’s for another art history class, but it is very interesting as it focuses on very distinct differences in comparing art in different ages. What interests me the most currently is studying the differences in Picassos work vs. Munch’s art work; Picasso is very free, open and liberating while Munch shows to be very anxious, timid and doubtful of himself. As they move into the new era of the 20 century there is a significant shift in how they represent themselves as well a their work.

4)    My main interest besides art would be yoga, I recently got certified to become a yoga instructor and I hope to continue studying and progressing through the years.

5)    Most blogs that I check regularly would be music blogs, “ohheydoctor” is a big once because I designed their logo and they are two of my very best friends, it is techno music but is recently being published on many sights.

6)    I think the biggest cultural even that has really “impressed” or interested me lately would be everything that’s going on in wall street, I don’t usually find myself interested in political issues but I have close friends that are closely involved and so it brings me to understand and want to learn more about what’s going on. I’m not sure I agree with it, or necessarily completely follow. But I believe in the people that are doing it and find it very intriguing when people put themselves out their for a specific cause.

7)    http://cnn.com/video/?/video/world/2012/01/16/cfp-abdul-chained-chocolate.cnn child slavery has been a big issue that has continues to bring uprising and questions to a lot of individuals around the world, but it is an issue that has been around for a long time and hasn’t changed very much at all. There are few people in the world that are very aware or address this issue and try all they can to help, It’s something that I have worked with my family with when I was younger, but again it is also something that I have slowly forgotten to address as I started my studies. I agree that any kind of animal slavery, child labor or anything should be addressed and quickly changed. This is just a small clip above shown on cnn on the issues of a young boy that works and only earns some food.

8)    A thought or idea that has really broadened my intellectual horizon would probably be spinal injuries, its extremely random but has created a wide base for all my artwork since I was in high school. My mom has had very severe back problems since I was younger and as I got older I started to use them as my medium and concentration in art. It has only broadened my intellectual horizon in my own personal way so there is no link I could provide, but it was allowed me to cure some kind of her pain through my work of art.

9) I have only been to the Denver Art Museum and the pieces that I remember most would be the modern art pieces. I can’t recall the name of the artist but there was this sculpture instillation of a metal mall will spinal thorns coming out of him in every direction, it is an image that has stuck with me most.
