Maya Lin- Extra Credit (Ryan Shand)

After having a few classes talking about Land Art, viewing different artists and exploring the work of several individuals; it reminded me of an artist of the name of Maya Lin who I learned about in the past. Maya Lin is known for her work that she did in Washington DC for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial that I have previously studied in my last class in Art History. Lin is a Chinese American who studied at Yale University and discovered her love and passion for art. Although she is most known for her piece she created in Washington, she has also made several other pieces of land art, such as; Sculpture 2*4 that is located in the San Francisco Museum of art. /Users/ryan/Desktop/Maya_Lin_sculpture.jpg

I thought it would be appropriate to write an extra credit response on her since we have spent a lot of time this semester so far discussing Land Art, she is a very significant Land Artist in the art community and has definitely been a subject of interest in several classes in the past.
