Extra Credit-Cindy Sherman

I found the lecture on Cindy Sherman on Tuesday really interesting. It really made me think about stereotypes, how we see other people and ourselves, and most importantly how other people see us. I think it would be really interesting to know how strangers view me from a far on a day to day basis. I also think it would be unfortunate if we never had photographs. It is a very strange thought. With regard to her Bus Rider pieces, all of them from 1976-2000, I think they can be viewed as a collection of the times. I think that representing different types of people during different times really shows what was going on then. You can see cultural patterns and traditions through the fashion and the expressions. If someone did this today, about our school, what would the people look like? Boulder is very diverse and I think that if someone did this project about people riding the bus in Boulder you would get some interesting characters.
