1. Give some basic information about your studies and fields of interest.

I am a Super Senior and Studio Art major with an emphasis in Digital Art.  I did have a main focus in photography, but I took classes at CU and they were not what I was expecting at all.  The instructor was terrible and extremely unsupportive, which was very discouraging as a new art student.  After having a horrible experience with photography, I went and played with Digital Art with Matt Weedman and fell in love with it.  He encouraged me and told me I had an eye for it and to stick with it.  Greatest man, ever.  Ever since, I have gotten back in touch with photography, but have expanded it with my digital focus. Intellectual Profile: Anna Cook

My name is Anna Cook. I’m a Studio Art Major and a TAM minor here at CU. I have dedication to the graphic arts in particular.I have enjoyed learning about religious culture, feminist literature and global culture as well as Japanese culture and history. I have a wide variety of interests here at CU, but I would say the concept of “critical thinking” applies to my focus best. Although I am not particularly skilled in science or math, I still enjoy theoretical concepts discussed in those realms. Continue reading

I am a studio art major with emphasis on drawing, and I will be graduating this December. As far as my art history interests go, I’m not too into the older stuff aside from really old (Early Greece and back) art and I am not too into about half of the more modern stuff but there are quite a few gems in there. 1. Give some basic information about your studies and fields of interest.
My name is Jackson Ellis and I am currently a junior pursuing a BFA in sculpture. My artistic career began when my family got the chance to move to Paris, France and I attended an international school in the city for my high school years. Since then my interests have been as diverse as the countries I’ve gotten the chance to visit. As a sculptor I’ve spent the last couple of years learning how to work with metal and wood and have used these skills to create kinetic machines as well as large-scale sculptures. 1.I am double majoring in Anthropology and Studio Arts with an emphasis in photography. I am an avid learner about different cultures and what they bring forth within today’s society and what makes each one unique. As far as photography goes my ultimate dream job would be to work for National Geographic, but until then I am working on putting together a few books of some unique photo projects that I have done. 1. Right now I’m a studio arts major, but I plan to transfer into the School of Architecture and Planning at the beginning of next year or in the summer. I hope to major in Architecture and minor in Fine Arts. I’ve been interested in pursuing a profession in the architecture field since about 6th grade, and the more I tried out other subjects to see if there was more interest in another field, the more it reinforced my love and confidence in the architecture world. Some of my other interests include drawing, reading, travelling, and going to the movies. Film is something that I’m really passionate about too. So much so, that I briefly considered minoring in film studies. Travelling is also something I love and would like to do more of. Especially to the less visited areas, those seem to interest me the most. For example I would really want  to visit Scotland, Romania, Iceland, Sweden, Toronto, Montreal (which I hope to visit this summer), Argentina, and Nova Scotia.

1. I am currently a sophomore and a studio art major. I’m still up in the air as to where I would like to go with my studies, but for now I am enjoying experimenting with different mediums. I like to paint and I love photography, in fact one of my dreams is to travel the world and work for National Geographic, taking photos, and exploring and writing about different cultures. If I were to add another major it would probably be English, because I enjoy literature and creative writing.
